Itinerary

Tour description

Embark on a scenic bike trip from Budapest to Szentendre, and discover the beauty of this charming city for yourself. Our tours will start at Clark Adam square, at the foot of the famous Chain Bridge. From here, we will ride along the Danube and across Margaret Island.

Our first stop will be in Óbuda to check out its charming main square. From here, we will pass by the Old Gas Factory and the Római-part, one of the favourite weekend getaway spots for locals. As we exit Budapest, we will follow a winding forest road and go past Lupa lake. We will enter Szentendre through its lovely riverside promenade.

We'll have a quick bite, maybe some good old Lángos, before heading out to the open-air ethnographic museum, the Skanzen. It showcases the traditional architecture and rural way of life of Hungary's past. Visitors to the museum can see a range of authentic buildings and structures, including houses, churches, and farmsteads, that have been carefully reconstructed to give a glimpse into Hungary's rural heritage. You can also see live demonstrations of traditional crafts and activities, such as weaving, pottery, and blacksmithing.

Back in Szentendre's old town, you will have the chance to admire the colourful houses and buildings that line the streets and stop at the many art galleries and studios to admire the works of local artists. Before heading back to Budapest along the Danube River, we'll stroll through the town's bustling squares and enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious Hungarian meal.
